Scout Track Training
Welcome to our new Scout Tracking tool. This tool will allow
you to keep track of your scout's progress as he progresses through Cub Scouts. This tutorial will help you get started.
If you have any questions about using the tool or keeping up with your scout's progress, please contact your Den
Leader or the pack webmaster, Tracey at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can access the Scout Track tool at: www.scouttrack.com/ScoutTrack. The link is also located on the links page of our website http://pack50snellville.org/links.html.
As you navigate through this tutorial, you can click on each picture to enlarge it and get a
better idea of what you will encounter when you login to the Scout Track tool.
You will receive a message inviting you to login to the Scout
Track website. This email will contain your username and temporary password. If you did not get the invite, please check your
spam folder and then contact your Den Leader. You can also go to the Scout Track website and click on "Need your username
or password?" to have a new email sent to you.
Login to the system using the username and temporary password
sent to you in the email.
When you first access the system you will be asked to change
your password. Your password must contain at least one non-alphanumeric character (!@#$%^&*).
Once logged in, you will see a screen with all of the options
available to you. If you are a leader, you will have additional options available to allow you to administer your Den or the
Your first order of business will be to check your scout's
record to ensure the information entered is correct. In the middle of the first section, click on "Change Scout's
membership record". This page will include your scout's name, birthday, rank advancement dates, school, grade, etc.
If your scout has any allergies or other health information you feel we should know about, this would be a great place to
keep it. Only you and your scout leaders will be able to view this information. At the bottom of the page you will see where
you can add a parent. If you would like Mom and Dad (stepmom, stepdad) to have access to update activities, please ensure
they are added.
Your second order of business will be to check your profile page.
You can access this page from the home screen and click on "Change your profile" in the bottom section. You can
also access this page if adding a new parent to a scout's record and the parent is not listed in the parent list. Please
ensure that all of the information on this page is correct. You can link your profile to your spouse's profile by choosing
their name from the drop down list after "Same address/phone as". You will also have the option to keep your profile
private, this will allow only pack leaders to view your information. If you uncheck this option you will allow other members
of the pack to view your contact information.
On your home screen under the section "You can also:"
there is a link to "View your Calendar". The calendar will list all upcoming scout events. You will notice that
each event starts with a title such as District, School Event, Pack Activity, etc. This title will help you understand which
events apply to you. The District events will include events applicable to the entire Sweetwater District, such as Roundtable
meetings, Family Camping, Tiger Fun Day, etc. School events will include items such as Meet your teacher or first day of school.
Pack Activities are activities where the entire pack will be invited. Den Activities will be activities specific to your den.
On your home screen under "You can also:" section you
will see "View your Bulletin board". This section will allow you to view flyers posted by the pack or den. The pack
section may include items such as health forms, directions to camping, flyers about events, etc. Your den section may include
items such as things worked on during meetings, homework, etc.
In the middle of the first section "As a parent of Scout
Name:" you can view the Den Roster or Pack Roster. This will provide a complete listing of the boys in the same den as
your child or the entire pack. This roster will include all of the name's however it will only include address and phone
number information if you have unchecked the private button in your profile.
In the "As a parent of Scout Name:" section you can
email your Den leader. This email will be sent to your Den Leader's email address on file.
In the "As a parent of Scout Name:" section you
can also email the members of your scout's Den. This email will be sent to the email addresses on file
for the members of your den.
In the "As a parent of Scout Name:" section you
can also email the members of your scout's Pack leaders. This email will be sent to the email addresses on file for the
members of your pack leaders.
In the "As a parent of Scout Name:" section the
first item is "Bobcat Trail". This will allow you to view the items that your son has completed or planned toward
this rank advancement. You can also update the items to indicate the items have been completed at home by clicking on the
pawprint next to the number of the item completed.
Upon clicking on the pawprint you will be directed to a page
where you can fill in the date in which the item was completed. You can also choose that the item is "not planned or
completed" or "planned but not completed".
Your scout may have completed several items at the same time.
In this case you can use the "quick entry" link at the top of the advancement page. This page will allow you to
quickly enter the dates for each of the items your scout has completed or planned.
Once your scout has completed the Bobcat Trail, he can then start
working on his Rank advancement. (Note: the Webelos rank is shown, however the rank your son is currently working toward will
appear on your tracker.) You will see each of the possible rank advancement items and can mark them off as complete or planned.
You may also notice that your Den leader has marked some of the items as planned or completed as the Den works toward advancements.
Your scout may be working on Belt loops or Pins. You can keep
track of this information under the "Sports and Academics Pins" section.
When you logout you will automatically be returned to the
Pack 50 website.
